Designing My Logo

For my logo, I started by sketching some ideas out. I had a hard time coming up with something just because my initials do not go together very well and so it's not as easy to combine them.

I finally got some down though and I started attempting to make some of them in adobe illustrator. So I tried out some of them and ended up not being very happy with them so I branched off of them and played with some other ideas and ended up with the logos below.

For the first logo I used the line segment tool to create the four triangles, which I then filled in with a lavender color and ended up taking the stroke off of them. I put each of my initials in each of the triangles, then obviously there was one triangle left bare so I used the star tool to make a symbol that looked like a sun
because I really like how it looked.

Here is my progression:

For the second logo I had based it off one of my sketches where it had my first initials larger than the rest of the letters in the name. I found that to look way to basic and simple so I ended up editing the effects on the bigger letters and I kind of messed with it until I got something I liked.

Masks

After I did the three masking projects I chose two pictures to mask on my own.

For the first Mask Project I used a layer Mask by using a picture of mountains, and adding the same picture into the text.

For my Second Mask Project I used a Layer Mask and edited the colors of the grapes, I wanted it to look somewhat realistic so I stuck with the green grapes even though it still does not look quite realistic at all.

Pattern & Motif

For my Motif I stuck with something pretty simple because I was still learning the tools of adobe illustrator. I was going to make it more complex but I felt like the motif would seem too busy.

I also went for something more simple with my pattern but I didn't want to add anything to it because I felt like it would have ruined the pattern.

Creative Pieces & Pencils

For my creative pieces I did an aquarium with a blow fish, some bushes, and a decorated rock. It was complicated to make the aquarium in the beginning since I was trying to make it look more realistic but in the end it became more of a cute cartoon aquarium instead of a real life one. For the rock I was trying to make the colors pop out so that it did not look like just an ordinary rock in the water. I really like the transparency effect because it effects the look of what you've created.

For the pencil project I have an ordinary pencil that anybody would use inside a blue cup. The second pencil I made I wanted it to be purple since that is my favorite color. I tried to make the pencil really unique compared to other ones you would see in the store.

What is Graphic Design?

In the 21st century, graphic design is very useful, it's used in almost everything you see everyday. You can use it to express what you feel or even create whatever comes to mind. I find graphic design so interesting because you can always find a new way to use it and there is so many things you can apply it to. Whether it's by hand on a piece of paper or a computer software on the screen it's used to convey a message to someone. Not only can you entertain someone with graphic design but you can inspire them. To me graphic design is a way that you can express you and your personality along with inspiring other people to do the same.

Graphic Design with Pixlr.com

I liked this project because it showed me tools for editing a picture that I didn't know Pixlr offered. It was easy in the beginning but got more difficult as I had to do harder tasks towards the end. I learned how to use many new tools that I did not know how to use on Pixlr.
